Stuart Robinson is an associate professor of art and chair of the art department at Radford University . He completed his doctorate in Art and Visual Culture Education at the University of Arizona in 2014, and, through the Other White Cube Project, his dissertation studied the intersection of museum education, post-museum theory, and post-material ethics. Stuart has shared his creative scholarship in regional, national, and international forums. He has been published in the Journal of Social Theory in Art Education, which he later joined as a reviewer, and he was named as a 40-under-40 artist by the Shenandoah Valley Art Center in 2018. Stuart has exhibited his fiber art and installations in national, juried shows in Santa Fe, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Kansas City, and Seattle, among other locations. Stuart previously served as an assistant professor at Southern Utah University, from 2017-2022, and at Northwest Missouri State, from 2014-2017. At both SUU and Northwest Missouri, Stuart overhauled curricula, expanded field experiences, and led programs to significant enrollment increases. Apart from work, he has passions for hiking, live music, and Appalachian culture, the latter of which is the focus of his artwork.
